In this lab, you’ll learn how to work with multiple data sources in Tableau.

8.1 Part 1 - Working with linked files

Data

• products.xlsx
• users.csv
• ratings.csv

The links to the files will be distributed in class.

Task

• Using joins in Tableau, connect the three csv files.
• Connect using inner, left, right, and full join.
• Visualize using tables and heat maps

8.2 Part 2 - Working with unlinked files

Data

• AirBnb_Demo_Students (Google Spreadsheet)

The links to the files will be distributed in class.

Task

• Copy the Google spreadsheet to your Google Account.
• Using joins in Tableau, connect the two worksheets on the Google spreadsheet using an inner join.
• Visualize using a dual axis map as shown in class.
